Taurus Enterprise Engineering proposes a wide range of consulting services which all have one common goal :

to reinforce four fundamental qualities
  • efficiency
  • effectiveness
  • manageability
  • evolvability
by focusing on the design and integration of
  • organisation
  • processes
  • information
  • information systems
as well as on Approaches, Methodologies, Frameworks and Management Processes.

    Company's Objectives

Surviving is not the objective of a company. It's objective must be to prosper. Prosperity can only be insured when a company offering more valuable products and services than its competitors. Focusing on innovation or on strategic advantage doesn't garantee success. The essence lies in the process of sustainedly creating a maximum of added value in an evolving world.

    Processes play a key role

Market information and customer's needs must be captured in time and correctly understood. Products and services satisfying these needs must be invented and designed. Production processes will create these products and services. Supporting processes help the production processes. Sales and distribution processes will bring these products and services to the customers. Monitoring, feedback and control processes will gather information of these processes. And finally, management processes must guide and adjust these processes.

Processes are the heartbeats of the company. They create the value that allows the company to prosper. Processes can be organised.

    Enterprise as a man-made socio-technical system

Processes are executed by a system: the company. It is composed of a human organisation, industrial components and information systems. This system needs resources and information to function. As the enterprise is a man-made system, it can be designed. Four main architectures define this system : the processes, the human organisation, the information and the information systems. They operate in a work environment.

      The Body of the Company

Key qualities of the core of a company

There are a few key qualities that are crucial to the company to function, to live and to prosper.

      • Efficiency
      • Effectiveness
      • Capabilities
      • Manageability
      • Evolvability
      • Risks
      • Competences

There are many other qualities. Any quality that may prevent the company to be better than its competitors and to evolve and any quality that constitute a risk for the company is crucial.

    Design the Company

The processes, the system that can perform these processes and the qualities of the systems and processes are not created spontaneously. They can only reach a decent level of quality when they are purposedly and thoughtfully designed. The difficult task of ideally appropriately designing the internals of the company can only be achieved by using a systemic, multi-disciplinary, holistic and integrated approach, architectures and models.

Enterprise Engineering is a discipline that studies the architecture and functioning of a company from a social and systemic perspective. Through a holistic, integrated and systematic approach it seeks to (re-)design the enterprise in order to obtain an effective and efficient enterprise while increasing its manageability and its ability to evolve.

Enterprise Engineering is concerned by the company culture, the human organisation, the business processes, the information architecture, the software applications and the implemented ICT-technologies.
